Swim Coaches 2017


Kelly Pearce – Head Coach

kelly pearce pictureKelly Pearce graduated from Bridgewater- Raritan High school in 2015 and is currently attending Lehigh University.

Kelly was first introduced to competitive swimming at the age of 5 when she joined the summer swim team at the Highland Swim Club in Scotch Plains and has been in the pool ever since. She has been privileged to be a contributing member of many successful teams including the JCC and both the Somerset Valley YMCA and Somerset Hills YMCA while also swimming for her high school’s varsity team, the Panthers where she served her senior year as a captain. She grew up in a family with close ties within the swim community, one of three children who all swim competitively and a father who is a YMCA/USA official and referee.

At the age of 7 her family relocated to Martinsville New Jersey and joined Round Top Swim Club. Kelly has been a member of The swim team for ten years. In addition to participating on the team she has also offered instructional swim lessons to the younger members, has worked at the food concession stand and has been a lifeguard for three years.

Out of the water Kelly enjoys running, going to the gym, cooking & baking, spending time with friends and her family and her two dogs, Toby & Tucker.

Katelyn Caiati – Assistant Coach

Katelyn Caiati will be a senior this image fall at Monmouth University where she is studying English and Special Education.

Katelyn was first introduced to swimming at the age of 8 when her family joined Round Top Swim and Tennis Club. While continuing to swim for Round Top, Katelyn started swimming for Berkley Aquatics Swim Club at the age of 12 and continued up until high school where she swam on the varsity swim team at Watchung Hills Regional High School.

Katelyn enjoys reading, writing, spending time with family and friends, day trips to the beach and participating in her sorority’s philanthropic work for Autism Speaks.

Ray Diorio – Assistant Coach

ray diorioRay is a graduate of Watchung Hills Regional High School, where he was the Varsity Swim Team Captain. Ray also coached the high school pole vaulting team in his Junior and Senior years.

Ray swam for Somerset Valley YMCA until he was 18 years old and currently swims for the University of Scranton.
